New combo for tough liver cancer shows promise, but trial ends early
NCT ID NCT05718882
First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This small study tested whether adding an experimental drug (VIC-1911) to the standard drug lenvatinib could help people with advanced liver cancer that had stopped responding to lenvatinib alone. Only 5 people were enrolled before the trial was stopped early, so we have very limited information. The goal was to see if the combination could slow cancer growth and improve survival, but the early end means results are not conclusive.
