New hope for kids whose arthritis Won't quit

NCT ID NCT07428551

Summary

This study tested if adding a drug called leflunomide to standard methotrexate treatment works better for children with juvenile arthritis that hasn't responded to methotrexate alone. Fifty children with this hard-to-treat condition were randomly assigned to receive either the two-drug combination or continue with just methotrexate. Researchers measured changes in disease activity and the children's ability to perform daily tasks over 24 weeks to see which approach was more effective and safe.
