Can Sunlight-Mimicking hospital lights lift depression?
NCT ID NCT03821506
Summary
This study tested whether a new dynamic lighting system installed in hospital rooms could help reduce symptoms of depression. The special lights were designed to mimic natural sunlight, changing color and brightness throughout the day to help regulate sleep-wake cycles. Researchers compared this system to standard hospital room lighting in 60 hospitalized patients with major depression to see if it improved mood, sleep, and quality of life.
