Can Sun-Mimicking lights lift depression? hospital trial tests new approach
NCT ID NCT03821506
Summary
This study tested whether a new dynamic lighting system installed in hospital rooms could help reduce symptoms of depression. The system uses LED lights that change color and brightness throughout the day to mimic natural sunlight, aiming to improve mood and sleep cycles. Researchers compared this special lighting to standard hospital room lighting in 60 patients hospitalized for a major depressive episode.
