Heart test after ablation may predict and prevent deadly rhythms

NCT ID NCT06669299

First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a non-invasive heart stimulation test (NIPS) done a few days after a successful ablation can predict if a dangerous heart rhythm (ventricular tachycardia) will come back. About 51 adults with an implanted defibrillator who had a successful ablation will be enrolled. If the test triggers a rhythm, patients are randomly assigned to either a repeat ablation or medication, and the study compares which approach better prevents future episodes.
