Gentler biopsy? laser tested against traditional method
NCT ID NCT07414797
Summary
This study compared two methods for taking small tissue samples (biopsies) from the mouth to diagnose oral lichen planus. Researchers wanted to see if using a laser caused less pain and healed as well as the standard punch tool. They randomly assigned 112 adult patients to have their biopsy done with either the laser or the traditional punch method and then tracked their recovery.
