Summary
This study tested whether adding laser therapy to standard gum disease treatment helps people with advanced periodontitis. Twenty adults with severe gum disease received either laser treatment or a placebo alongside regular cleaning. Researchers measured gum health and bacteria levels before and three months after treatment to see if the laser improved healing.
