First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests a new laser otoscope to see if it can better detect fluid behind the eardrum in children. About 150 kids already scheduled for ear tube surgery will get both a laser and a standard ear exam. The results will be checked against what doctors find during surgery to see which method is more accurate.
