Laser heat therapy may boost knee pain relief when added to exercise

NCT ID NCT07423182

First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a special laser treatment (CO2 infrared laser moxibustion) to a standard exercise program can reduce knee pain and improve function in people with knee osteoarthritis. About 68 adults aged 55 to 65 with knee arthritis will be randomly assigned to either exercise alone or exercise plus the laser treatment for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure pain, knee movement, and cartilage changes over 6 months to see if the laser provides extra benefit.
