Laser zaps aim to wake up dormant hair follicles
NCT ID NCT03382184
First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether a laser treatment called fractional photothermolysis (a type of skin resurfacing) could stimulate hair growth in people with alopecia (hair loss) on the scalp. Researchers planned to treat half of each participant's scalp with a laser and leave the other half untreated for comparison. The study was terminated early and only enrolled 5 people, so results are limited.
