Summary

This study tested a surgery that reconnects nerves to help people with paralyzed vocal cords breathe and speak better. Four adults who had not improved with earlier treatments took part. The surgery uses a nerve from the diaphragm and neck nerves to restore movement, with results seen after 6 to 9 months.
