New x-ray eye keeps radiation beams locked on liver tumors

NCT ID NCT02984566

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special X-ray tracking system called KIM can make radiation treatment for liver cancer more accurate. About 32 adults with liver cancer who cannot have surgery or other standard treatments will receive focused radiation (SABR) while the KIM system tracks the tumor's position in real time. The goal is to see if this tracking reduces radiation to healthy tissue and improves treatment precision.
