Summary
This study compared two surgical methods for treating a rare cancer near the pancreas (periampullary adenocarcinoma). Forty patients were randomly assigned to either keyhole (laparoscopic) or traditional open surgery. The main goal was to see which approach caused fewer complications, especially a leak from the pancreas called a pancreatic fistula.
