Summary

This study tested whether using carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the blood can help doctors better treat high lactate (a sign of poor oxygen delivery) in patients with shock. 180 adults in intensive care were randomly assigned to receive treatment guided by CO2 measurements or standard care. The goal was to see if the CO2-guided approach could lower lactate more effectively within 2 hours.
