New marker may spot adenomyosis without surgery

NCT ID NCT06864494

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a protein called L-PGDS can be used to diagnose adenomyosis, a condition that causes chronic pelvic pain and heavy periods. Researchers will measure L-PGDS in blood, urine, and tissue samples from 60 women with and without adenomyosis. If successful, this could lead to a simple, non-invasive test to detect the disease earlier.
