New combo aims to unleash immune system on tough cancers
NCT ID NCT03236935
First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This early-phase study tested whether adding L-NMMA to the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab is safe for people with several advanced cancers, including melanoma, lung cancer, and others. The goal was to see if blocking a signal that protects cancer cells could help the immune system attack them more effectively. Only 12 adults took part, and the main focus was on finding the right dose and checking for side effects.
