New DNA test could spot lung cancer earlier, avoid unnecessary biopsies

NCT ID NCT05306912

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026

Summary

This study aims to improve how doctors tell if a small lung nodule is cancerous. Researchers will collect fluid left over from a routine scope procedure and analyze DNA in it for cancer signals. The goal is to see if this DNA test is more sensitive than current methods, potentially reducing the need for more invasive biopsies. About 60 adults with small lung nodules will take part.
