First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested two types of pain-relief catheters after total knee replacement. One catheter was placed under a muscle in the thigh (sartorial), the other near the main thigh nerve (femoral). The goal was to see which one better preserves leg muscle strength, helping patients recover faster. 44 adults who had knee replacement surgery took part, and their quadriceps strength was measured using a simple bedside test.
