First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested two types of pain-relief catheters after total knee replacement surgery. One catheter is placed under a muscle in the thigh (sartorial), and the other is placed near the main thigh nerve (femoral). The goal was to see which one better preserves leg muscle strength, helping patients recover faster. 44 adults who had knee replacement took part, and their muscle strength was measured using a simple bedside test.
