New knee surgery pain method aims to speed recovery

NCT ID NCT02873637

Summary

This study compared two ways to place pain-relief catheters after total knee replacement surgery. Researchers wanted to see which catheter position better preserved patients' ability to use their leg muscles during early recovery. The study involved 44 patients who were randomly assigned to receive either the experimental catheter placement or the standard placement.
