New catheter placement may help knee replacement patients recover leg strength faster
NCT ID NCT02873637
Summary
This study compared two different placements of pain-relief catheters after total knee replacement surgery. Researchers wanted to see which catheter position better preserved patients' ability to use their thigh muscles while still providing good pain control. The study involved 44 patients who were randomly assigned to receive either the experimental catheter placement or the standard placement.
