Knee replacement showdown: which alignment technique wins?

NCT ID NCT06486714

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to do a total knee replacement: mechanical alignment (straightening the leg) and kinematic alignment (keeping the leg's natural angle). The goal is to see which method leads to less pain and better function after surgery. About 96 adults with knee osteoarthritis will be randomly assigned to one of the two techniques and followed for up to two years.
