New nerve block may ease pain after knee replacement
NCT ID NCT07568106
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a new type of nerve block (biceps femoris short head block) to the usual pain management approach can reduce pain and improve recovery after total knee replacement. About 132 adults having knee replacement will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard nerve block alone or the standard plus the new block. The goal is to see if the extra block provides better pain relief, especially in the back of the knee, and helps patients move sooner.
