Tape and exercise combo tested for teen knee pain
NCT ID NCT06993363
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether adding kinesiotape to standard quadriceps strengthening exercises improves knee strength, pain, and function in 60 young adults (ages 18-25) with Osgood-Schlatter disease. Participants did leg exercises with or without the tape. The goal was to see if the tape provides extra relief for this common overuse knee condition.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- kinesiotaping
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to ease knee pain and improve function for people with Osgood-Schlatter disease.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, completed trial with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The intervention is non-invasive and low-risk, but benefits may be modest.
