Community helpers may speed up kidney transplant access

NCT ID NCT06655857

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether community health workers and special training for doctors can help more people with advanced kidney disease get on the waiting list for a kidney transplant. About 5 patients will take part, and their doctors will be randomly assigned to either offer this extra support or continue usual care. The goal is to see if addressing social needs and reducing bias can speed up the transplant evaluation process.
