Study tests whether surgical sealants reduce bleeding in kidney surgery
NCT ID NCT07232927
Summary
This study tested whether adding special surgical sealants to standard stitching helps reduce bleeding and urine leaks after kidney tumor removal surgery. Researchers compared 150 patients who received either standard stitching alone, stitching with FloSeal® gel, or stitching with Surgicel® mesh during their operations. The study found that these sealants didn't significantly reduce bleeding complications compared to careful stitching alone.
