Surgical sealants show limited benefit in kidney tumor operations
NCT ID NCT07232927
Summary
This study tested whether two surgical sealants (FloSeal and Surgicel) help reduce complications after kidney tumor removal surgery. Researchers divided 150 patients into three groups to compare standard stitching alone versus stitching with each sealant. The study found these sealants didn't significantly reduce bleeding or urine leaks after surgery, and recovery outcomes depended more on tumor characteristics and surgical technique.
