First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a diuretic (furosemide) during kidney stone surgery helps remove more stone fragments. 2000 adults with medium-sized stones (up to 30 mm) were randomly assigned to receive the diuretic or standard care. The main goal was to see if the diuretic reduced leftover fragments, checked by CT scan four weeks after surgery.
