First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study compared two common, minimally invasive surgeries for removing kidney stones that are 2 cm or smaller: flexible ureteroscopy (f-URS) and mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mini-PCNL). Researchers wanted to see which method clears stones more completely and has fewer side effects. The study included 118 adults and teenagers, and measured stone clearance, surgery time, hospital stay, and blood loss.
