Small kidney stones: will they pass naturally? new study aims to predict the odds
NCT ID NCT07176026
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 38 times
Summary
This study follows 1600 people with small kidney stones (4 mm or smaller) to see how often they pass without treatment within 4 to 8 weeks. Researchers will track pain, blood tests, stone size, and location to find clues that predict whether a stone will pass on its own. Participants fill out symptom surveys, give a blood sample, and get a follow-up CT scan.
