New combo may treat kidney cancer without removing the organ

NCT ID NCT07233252

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether a combination of two drugs (tislelizumab and nab-paclitaxel) can treat renal pelvic cancer while avoiding removal of the kidney. About 35 adults with early-stage cancer that hasn't spread will receive the drugs, and if the tumor shrinks enough, they may get additional treatment through a scope to destroy any remaining cancer. The main goal is to see if the kidney can be saved for at least one year without needing surgery to remove it.
