Doctors develop checklist to predict kidney disease risk after hospital stay
NCT ID NCT03192189
Summary
This study aimed to create a tool to help doctors identify which patients with severe, dialysis-treated kidney injury during hospitalization are most likely to develop lasting kidney problems. Researchers followed 319 adults to understand what factors predict who needs to see a kidney specialist after leaving the hospital. The goal was to improve referral decisions so patients get the right follow-up care at the right time.
