First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether training community health workers to focus on kidney disease care, and teaching doctors about trauma-informed care, could improve quality of life for Black and Hispanic patients with advanced chronic kidney disease. The study involved 153 patients from high-poverty areas in Philadelphia. The goal was to see if these approaches are feasible and help patients feel better and be more involved in their own care.
