Allergy pill trial aims to halt silent liver damage

NCT ID NCT05616442

Summary

This study tested whether ketotifen, a common allergy and asthma medication, could help patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Researchers enrolled 60 adults with NAFLD to see if the drug could safely reduce liver scarring and inflammation. The goal was to see if this existing drug could offer a new way to manage this common, progressive liver condition.
