Could a High-Fat diet boost cancer immunotherapy?

NCT ID NCT06391099

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This early-stage trial explores whether a ketogenic (low-carb, high-fat) diet can help standard immunotherapy drugs work better in people with advanced melanoma or kidney cancer. About 60 adults will follow the diet while receiving treatment, and researchers will monitor safety and how well participants stick to the diet. The goal is to see if switching the body's fuel from sugar to ketones improves the immune system's ability to fight cancer.
