Keto diet may rewire brains of anorexia survivors
NCT ID NCT06540703
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether a 14-week ketogenic diet can normalize brain metabolism and reduce lingering eating disorder thoughts in people who have already regained weight from anorexia nervosa. About 90 participants will have brain scans and assessments before and after the diet, with a 6-month follow-up. The goal is to see if changing fuel source from glucose to ketones helps the brain work better and eases symptoms.
