Can a tiny dose of ketamine slash morphine needs in trauma?
NCT ID NCT04833816
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a low, continuous dose of ketamine to people with severe injuries could cut their morphine use by at least 25% over the first 48 hours, while still controlling pain just as well. A total of 140 adults with serious trauma took part. Researchers compared the ketamine group to a placebo group to see if pain relief was similar and if side effects like confusion differed.
