Summary

This study looked at whether a single dose of ketamine can reduce depressive symptoms in adults undergoing surgery for a brain pressure condition. 110 participants with moderate to severe depression were randomly assigned to receive ketamine or a placebo during their hospital stay. The main goal was to see if ketamine could cut depressive symptoms by at least half within a week after surgery.
