Can we predict who ketamine helps? new study seeks answers

NCT ID NCT05625555

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This study aims to find clues that show which patients with treatment-resistant depression will respond best to a single dose of IV ketamine. Researchers will study 40 adults with depression or bipolar disorder who haven't improved with other treatments. Participants will receive both ketamine and a placebo at different times, and researchers will track symptoms and use interviews, questionnaires, and brain activity tests to identify predictors of rapid and lasting improvement.
