Summary

This study tested whether repeated doses of intravenous ketamine can safely and effectively reduce depression in people with bipolar disorder who haven't responded to other treatments. 71 adults with bipolar I or II and current major depression received four ketamine infusions or a placebo (midazolam) over two weeks. The goal was to measure changes in depression severity, suicidal thoughts, and quality of life.
