VR meets ketamine: a new hope for stubborn depression?

NCT ID NCT06781697

First seen Jan 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This small pilot study tests whether adding virtual reality (VR) to standard ketamine infusions can better ease symptoms of treatment-resistant depression. All 31 participants will receive ketamine, and half will also wear a VR headset during treatment. The main goal is to see if a larger trial is possible, but researchers will also compare mood changes between the two groups.
