First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study compared two injected treatments for keloid scars: triamcinolone acetonide (a steroid) and verapamil hydrochloride (a blood pressure medicine). Sixty adults with keloids received one of the two injections. Doctors measured scar height, color, softness, and thickness using a standard scale before and 24 weeks after treatment. The goal was to see which treatment worked better for reducing these raised scars.
