Skin-to-Skin care may help preterm babies save energy

NCT ID NCT07548229

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at how kangaroo mother care (skin-to-skin contact) affects energy use in preterm infants born at 32-36 weeks. Researchers will measure certain substances in the babies' urine that show how their bodies are using energy and handling stress. They will also check the babies' heart rate, breathing, and temperature, as well as the mother's emotional well-being.
