First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This phase 3 trial tests whether adding the targeted drug calderasib (MK-1084) to the immunotherapy durvalumab can help people with a certain KRAS-mutated lung cancer live longer without their cancer growing. The study enrolls about 310 adults whose cancer has not progressed after chemotherapy and radiation. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the drug combo or a placebo plus durvalumab.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
calderasib (MK-1084) plus durvalumab
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a new treatment option that delays cancer growth or spread in people with a specific KRAS-mutant lung cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a phase 3 trial, but the drug combination is still experimental. Side effects from the targeted therapy and immunotherapy could be serious, and the benefit over standard care is not yet proven.
