Can simple exercises beat a jaw splint for pain relief?

NCT ID NCT06707467

Summary

This study tested whether adding specific neck and posture exercises to standard jaw splint therapy works better for reducing pain and improving movement in people with a common jaw joint disorder (TMJ). Fifty-seven adults were split into three groups: one used only a jaw splint, one used the splint plus Rocabado exercises, and one used the splint plus general postural exercises. Researchers measured pain, jaw and neck movement, and psychological well-being before and after two months of treatment to see which approach was most effective.
