New 'Tunnel' technique builds jawbone without major surgery

NCT ID NCT07353086

Summary

This study tested a less invasive method to widen a shrunken jawbone in the back of the lower jaw. Ten patients received a special, putty-like bone graft material placed through a small tunnel under the gum. Researchers checked how well the new bone grew over six months to see if it was strong enough to support a future dental implant.
