New hope for bile duct cancer: targeted pill may prevent recurrence after standard treatment

Summary
This study tests whether a daily pill called ivosidenib can help prevent bile duct cancer from returning in people who have already had surgery and chemotherapy. The drug targets a specific genetic change (IDH1 mutation) found in some bile duct cancers. About 40 adults with this mutation will take ivosidenib for one year, and researchers will track how many remain cancer-free after that time.
