Experimental nerve treatment aims to regrow damaged fibers

NCT ID NCT04153422

Summary

This study is testing whether intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) can help regrow damaged nerve fibers and reduce pain in people with autoimmune small fiber neuropathy. Researchers will enroll 20 adults who have specific antibodies linked to this painful nerve condition. Participants will receive either the IVIG treatment or a placebo for six months, with skin biopsies and pain assessments used to measure any improvement.
