Summary
This study tested a program called iSIPsmarter, which uses text messages and online tools to help adults in rural Appalachia drink fewer sugary beverages like soda and sweet tea. About 249 adults who drank at least 200 calories of sugary drinks daily took part. The program was compared to a standard health education website, and researchers measured changes in drink intake over 9 weeks and up to 18 months.
