First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested a program called iSIPsmarter, which uses text messages and online tools to help adults in rural Appalachia drink fewer sugary beverages like soda and sweet tea. About 249 adults who drank at least 200 calories of sugary drinks daily took part. The program helped them reduce their sugary drink intake more than just reading health information online.
